FOOD & WINE

Strategically placed between the mountains and the sea, the area around Lustignano offers the freshest of seafood straight from the Tyrrhenian coast, but also a rich tradition of wild boar and locally made sausages, stuffed pasta tortelli and tripe. Stoccafisso – wind-dried cod – is also a staple. You can sample these delicacies in a host of restaurants. Or you can visit local markets and speciality shops to discover all the ingredients for whipping up something special in the Pieve's fully equipped kitchen. The famous butcher's in Lustignano will supply the choicest of meat for grilling on the barbeque by the Pieve's scenic terrace. With Bolgheri to the west and Chianti to the east, the Pieve is perfectly placed for exploring vineyards and sampling wines. Canteen visits, cheese tastings, mushroom hunting and cooking courses can be arranged on request. In season, we can arrange for our guests to help with the grape or olive harvests.
