SUSTAINABLE ENERGY

At Pieve di San Giovanni, guests are immersed in a Tuscany known to few. Between Chianti and the Tyrrhenian sea, the area is alive with geo-thermal activity. In rescuing the Pieve from neglect and bringing it back to vibrant life, the Sgarallino family were also keen to replicate the mild environmental impact and low carbon footprint of the era in which this ancient property was originally built. They did this by harnessing an abundant local resource, taking advantage of the same geo-thermal springs which provide hot water for the private spa to feed the house's central heating and hot water system.
